The Pandemic Could Be Soon Over In Europe
January 24th, 2022
The Omicron variant has brought the COVID-19 pandemic into a new phase and could put an end to it in Europe. This was stated by the director of the World Health Organization for the Old Continent Hans Kluge, who reports “AFP”.
According to him, it is “plausible” to assume that the pandemic in Europe is coming to an end.
Kluge said the Omicron option could infect 60% of Europeans by March.
According to him, after the current peak of the virus due to Omicron, which currently covers the whole of Europe, we will have “global immunity for many weeks and months ahead, either because of the vaccine or because people have acquired immunity due to illness and seasonality “.
Kluge expects to have a period of calm before the coronavirus returns at the end of the year. However, this did not necessarily have to happen as a pandemic.
The head of the WHO for Europe called on governments to be careful in their planning because of the virus’s ability to mutate.
